The Girls Trip Debrief: BOSTON

Three College Friends. One Long Weekend. Countless Lobster Rolls.

Some trips are about checking landmarks off a list. This wasn't one of those.

Three college girlfriends escaped to Boston for a long weekend with one simple mission: eat and drink our way through downtown while soaking up everything this charming city had to offer. We stayed at Battery Wharf, wandered wherever our feet took us, laughed until our cheeks hurt, and somehow managed to squeeze in a little history between espresso martinis.

By the end of the weekend, every single one of us said the same thing:

"I'd come back in a heartbeat."

Boston completely surprised us. It was incredibly clean, unbelievably walkable, full of gorgeous neighborhoods, and every meal somehow managed to be better than the last. It felt like a city with big personality but small-town charm.

Honestly? 10/10. We are still dreaming about the lobster rolls...and the cannolis.

Our Weekend

Thursday | North End Adventures

We kicked off the weekend exactly as we intended to continue it—with lobster rolls and wine at Neptune Oyster. Worth every minute of the wait.

Naturally, dessert was next. Bova's Bakery served up cannolis that we'll probably compare every future cannoli to. The bar has officially been set.

From there we wandered over to Bell in Hand, America's oldest tavern, because history is more fun with a drink in your hand. We popped through the Boston Public Market where we somehow convinced ourselves we "needed" jewelry, kitchen gadgets, cheese, and a few more beverages for later.

Dinner at Bricco was phenomenal. Cozy Italian vibes, incredible pasta, and an espresso martini that immediately became the one to beat for the rest of the trip.

Friday | Walking Through History

Coffee first at Café Amalfi, because priorities.

We spent the morning following the Freedom Trail using a self-guided app, and it ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the trip. We could wander at our own pace, stop whenever something caught our eye, and somehow learn a little history without feeling like we were in school.

Beacon Hill completely stole our hearts. Acorn Street deserves every bit of the hype, and Charles Street is lined with the kind of boutiques and cafés that make you want to move in immediately.

Lunch and drinks at Sevens Ale House meant clam chowder (because when in Boston...) before making the obligatory stop at Cheers.

Dinner belonged to Francesca's, which managed to dethrone Bricco's espresso martini. The spicy margarita was equally delicious, and someone ordered the Wrong Cherry Old Fashioned, which quickly became the table's conversation piece.

Saturday | A Perfect Boston Morning

Our final day was all about wandering.

We strolled Newbury Street, admired the beautiful brownstones of Marlborough Street, wandered through the Boston Public Garden, and walked the tree-lined paths of Commonwealth Avenue.

No strict agenda. No rushing.

Just three friends enjoying one more slow morning together before heading home.

Sometimes that's the best kind of travel.

The Real Debrief

As with any girls' trip, there were plenty of recommendations exchanged between bites and cocktails.

Things We Immediately Added to Our Carts

  • Alpha, Beta, Omega supplements

  • Castor oil

  • Magnesium balm

  • Face tape

Because apparently every girls' weekend eventually turns into a wellness seminar.

Biggest Food Wins

  • Neptune Oyster's lobster rolls

  • Bova's cannolis

  • Bricco for Italian

  • Francesca's espresso martini (the surprise champion)

  • Clam chowder at Sevens Ale House

Favorite Neighborhoods

  • North End

  • Beacon Hill

  • Back Bay

  • Newbury Street

  • Boston Public Garden

Every neighborhood had its own personality, and each one made us want to keep walking just one more block.

What Stuck With Me

This trip was such a good reminder that sometimes the best vacations don't need a packed itinerary.

Give me a walkable city, incredible food, beautiful streets, great cocktails, and friends you've known since college, and I'm happy.

Boston somehow feels historic and energetic, sophisticated and approachable, all at the same time. We came for a fun girls' weekend, but left talking about when we'd come back.

And yes...we're still thinking about those lobster rolls.

And the cannolis.

Probably always will.
